Providing
alcohol to minors by Paul Dillon
"You
are sending a very strong message to your child when you agree to provide
alcohol to minors. Most importantly, you are telling them to ignore the law.
Often parents will say to me that they make it very clear to their child that
they don’t want them to drink alcohol as they’re handing over bottles or giving
them money to buy it, somehow thinking that this is going to have some sort of
positive outcome." Read the full article at the Generation
Next blog.
About
Positive Body Image by Melinda Hutchings
"Last

unretouched on the cover of the current issue of Marie Claire – and whether she
represents a role model for positive body image." Read the article at the the Generation
Next blog.
Preventing
the Transition to Psychosis in Youths
"In
this guest post, Dr Jackie Curtis, a psychiatrist who actively works with young
people with mental health problems at the Prince of Wales Hospital, and Dr
Georgie Paulik, a clinical psychologist, explain how the onset of psychosis may
be prevented or delayed in high-risk youths and describe some of the research
which is currently being undertaken to understand more about the onset of
psychosis." Read the full article at the Generation
Next blog.
Generation
Next at your school
The
Generation Next seminars will be back in 2010 in more locations around
Australia. The feedback from 2009 was overwhelmingly positive and indicated that
there is a great need for resources like Generation Next. We are still
organising out calendar, if you think your school would be interested in hosting
a seminar please do get in touch with us. For more information head
