The Growing and Developing Healthy Relationships Curriculum Support Materials provide an up to date resource for teachers in an important component of student’s health education.

The Growing and Developing Healthy Relationships Curriculum Support Materials provide an up to date resource for teachers in an important component of student’s health education. They have been extensively developed, consulted and trialed over more than three years by a consortium of health education specialists and guided by a skilled cross-sectoral Reference Group.

It is widely recognised that relationship and sexual health education needs to be comprehensive, start early, be skills based and developmentally appropriate. These materials approach relationship education in a positive way and are consistent with the WA Curriculum Framework. They contain relevant and up to date information on sexually transmissible infections, blood borne viruses and unplanned pregnancy as well as a strong emphasis on contraception in the context of positive relationships.

Growing and Developing Healthy Relationships is a partnership between the Department of Health, Association of Independent Schools WA and Department of Education.
