Healthy Schools Day is on the Wednesday 12 May 2010.
This is an opportunity to promote what schools are ALREADY doing to improve the health of students and the whole school community.
Is there something "healthy" happening in a school you know of?
Why not tell us about what your school is doing to promote school health! We'd love to share it on our website!
Also,
we encourage you to seek local media and other promotional
opportunities to raise the profile of the school and the positive
activities that it is doing within the community. We encourage you to
make the day as exciting and interactive as possible, encouraging
students to actively participate by displaying, demonstrating or and
presenting elements of the program.
To support you in the promotion of the health promotion program(s) that you implement, the WAHPSA has provided you with a media release template.
You
may also wish to contact the coordinator of the program that you are
implementing (for example the contact person within the School Drug
Education and Road Aware program) for further support and ideas about
how to promote your school as part of Healthy Schools Day.
Read about some of the great ideas from other schools, or for a list of other WA agencies that are committed to improving school health, please visit our members page.
The
WAHPSA would like to thank you again for your involvement in Healthy
Schools Day and your dedication to the health of your students and your
school community.
